  3. What if I want to keep my replies private?

If you’d prefer this information be private and only viewable by @Luvatfirsttweet then you can direct message in your responses. To do this, from the web or your mobile phone you would tweet “d Luvatfirsttweet your response here” — for more information please see the official Twitter help page on private direct messages.

  4. How do I build my profile?
There are 2 ways you can build your profile. The first is by simply @replying or direct messaging your responses through Twitter to @Luvatfirsttweet. The other option is by logging into www.luvatfirsttweet.com, and clicking on the Match Questions tab. This area has all of the answers you’ve tweeted in or entered, and you have the option to answer questions you’ve missed or edit previous responses.
  5. I’ve tweeted a response but don’t see it in my profile when I login to the website. Why is that?
There is a slight time delay in capturing data collected from @Luvatfirsttweet before it shows up on the website, so please give a few minutes before checking for your response to show up.
  6. What if I don’t have any matches?
If Luv@FirstTweet hasn’t returned any matches for you yet, please do not get discouraged. Luv@FirstTweet is a new service that is still growing, so you may have to give it a few weeks in case there aren’t many active users in your area yet. So be sure to check in on your profile often to see if you have any new matches.

Based on your answers to the questions, an algorithm will produce those who most closely match the qualities you seek in someone. The more profile questions you answer, the more matches you will get, so be sure to stay active!

  7. What happens when I get a match?
When you have matches, they will be displayed in your profile within the New Matches section. From here, you will see a picture of the individual, as well as a few questions and answers which you had in common with your match.  Once you confirm your match, you are shown their email address and Twitter ID  to contact him or her.
  8. How much does this site cost? Is there a monthly subscription fee?
Luv@FirstTweet is completely free!  We have absolutely no subscription fee nor other recurring fees.
  9. Hey I had a pending match but now it’s gone. What happened?
Our algorithm is constantly updating your matches based on your preferences and both your responses to questions as well as those from potential matches. So if someone changes their preferences and used to match with you, but now based on their interests or an answer to a question you had in common, doesn’t match anymore, we’ll remove them from your match list. Note that well never remove a confirmed match though.
  10. Now I’ve accepted my match and have their contact info. What should I do?
Reach out to them! Email them and introduce yourself. When you accept a match, you see several things in common with the other person. For instance, if you both love a certain movie or want to visit a certain city, you can start off your conversation discussing that. This will create a more personal and meaningful introduction with the other person.

  1. I live in the UK and can’t create an account on your website without a ZIP code.

Such a shame – as this seems like a great idea I’d love to try.

    :(

  2. Luv@FirstTweet Team says:

Thanks for the insightful feedback Phil. You are definitely right that we need to address the UK market, and international as a whole. However, we just launched a few weeks ago and before we expand internationally we want to make sure that things run smoothly stateside. It is a lot more manageable that way for us. Know that it is definitely on our to do list and I hope that you can participate in Luv@FirstTweet soon in the future.

  3. Sue says:

I am in Canada, very close to the 49th parallel but I can’t sign up either

  4. Hi Sue, thanks for the comment. As I mentioned to Phil, it is on our to do list to expand internationally but it isn’t quite ready yet.

Thanks much for checking us out and I’ll let you know when we can handle international markets.

  5. Jonathan says:

How do you hope to make money from this, if you have a lot of followers and it is successful in terms of creating matches, etc.

  6. Thanks for the question Jonathan. We have several different monetization paths we’re exploring. If you have further questions feel free to contact us here http://www.luvatfirsttweet.com/contact with any specific questions and we’ll be happy to discuss further.

  7. benedikta says:

Please make sure that indonesia is on your expanding list. Thank you!

  8. Bobby says:

When I accepted my first match I saw her email address. Did Twitter give you my email address and do you share my email address with my matches (possible spammers)? I don’t like my email being shared so easily and your frontpage said nothing about that.

Why not only disclose my twitter ID and let me choose to share my email once we follow each other?

    • Hi Bobby, thanks for the feedback. We had mentioned this in our FAQ above in #7, however based on some feedback such as yours are going to change that very shortly. We appreciate the input and know that your concern is top on our priority list right now. Expect a fix in the next day or two.

edit: It’s done, your email is by default now private.

  9. Bobby says:

How to I remove someone from my accepted matches?

  10. Bobby says:

How do I change my email address that you notify me with when I have new matches?

  11. Adding that feature. Appreciate the feedback.

  12. yeni says:

I live in indonesia, but i want to find matches outside my country (especially US and europe countries). Can luv@firsttweet do that?

  13. Hi Yeni, unfortunately we don’t have that capability as matches are intra-country. Please let us know if you have any other questions.
